The Skippers
Captain Steve Kaiser is one of the few active Kona
skippers to catch a coveted Grander (1000-lb. or better Blue
Marlin), and he has also added a 966-pound Black Marlin, one
of the largest Blacks ever recorded in Hawaii. With two fish
like these to his credit, its no wonder Steve is confident
on the water. But remember, confidence shouldnt be confused
with arrogance. Steve is very amenable to his guests, and he
will always tailor his approach to the day of fishing to
suit the anglers wishes.
Co-captain Steve Roney has been fishing Kona waters for
30 years, and is widely respected as one of the true
veterans of Kona fishing. Prior to coming on board Medusa he
ran several other boats stationed in Kona and has fished
Australian and Mexican waters during the course of his
career.
